  1. He probably bought the stained gear and used paints off FB marketplace, but it's really funny to imagine this dude putting vastly more effort into what amounts to set design than the "art" he's trying to sell.

    Complete loser shit either way.

  2. It's wild to see all the work they put into pretending to have made art, rather than just working on their art skills.

Especially when you consider how they're probably looking at their obviously fake AI jizz right now and pulling their hair out trying to understand how their ruse didn't work.

  3. Their IG is private and their official website has the fucking AUDACITY to have a standard issue copyright notice on the front page.

  4. Disgusting scammers. They really want the experience of being an artist with nothing to show for it. It's almost like they try to delude themselves, that's how far they go

  5. Wait a second this is even funnier. They tried to show off posing with Hayden but she just took another photo and didn’t even shop the other person out of it.

  6. Reminds me of the 'christian' scam artist painter lady that shows up on tiktok dancing around then painting 'JESUS' on a canvas in orange then SMASHCUT and it's a painting of a hyperrealistic lion but if anyone looks into her actual work it's nothing like that.

  7. There was another situation where an artist friend currently SELLING her works at D*Con found her stolen works sold on cell phone covers. And yet ANOTHER AI grifter kicked out?? I'm curious of the vetting process and why so many people are falling through the fucking cracks for my home con 😒

  8. We said AI's #1 use would be as a tool for conmen the first week of its public codification and it still infested every facet of the online world in record time. We are, after all, living under the thumbs of conmen - it is their system, so of course they love it.

  9. That second pic looks like he just got put in time-out by his mom it’s hilarious. But, how did they find out he was a AI scammer?

  10. They also have Ai images on their official website in at least a couple places. I think they probably do make some of the more hand painted traditional medium pieces? But any of the digital/clean lines/clean rendering stuff seems to be AI. In these screenshots the details don’t make sense. Flowers💀

  11. That first image shows how they want to larp as artists so bad. "You are broke" "artists Will be extinct soon" but they want the aesthetic of being an artist because they dont undertand what it means to make art.

  12. For someone who just appreciates art and can get easily fooled by AI, can someone point out the telltale signs that the images are AI generated?

I see a random campbell soup on monopoly guy but thats the most I can glean

  13. Scuuuummmyyy af Glad more and more cons are keeping that rubbish out. Now If only local makers markets would follow too.

  14. wow, this is nuts... it reeks of someone who didn't want to spend time getting better at drawing/painting and instead wanted to make a quick buck. the entitlement is real, especially after seeing in the insane comments. this person hates art and artists... they just wanted to make dirty money.

  15. Oh hell yeah. ✌️

Sadly they had a few booths at the Comicon here, hocking off -clearly- AI imagery, only positive was that people hardly gave them the time of day. I’m unsure if they open allow it to be sold or what, it was amusing was to see them just staring at their phones with no traffic.

  16. Scammers will also apply with a handful of original art, and show up with those few pieces and 1000000 pieces of AI slop or resale. It's aggravating, especially for events who think they're getting legit artists. 100% need a photo of a booth fully setup with all art for every application.

  17. ohhhh i wish i was there. A shame they got that spot instead of an actual artist (not necessarily a jab at staff; it slipped through the cracks but they acted accordingly!) but I wish I saw them being escorted out. Oh that sounds so cathartic.

  18. I’m glad this happened, but how does one prove it? I feel like in this day and age, you have to be really careful with the accusations. The seller could try to play the sympathy card and immediately turn the tables on the accuser.

  19. Can’t believe they even got through the jury, but it’s good they actually did something about it after and didn’t just ignore it

  20. Trying to catch up on this, not a lot of clear reporting on it yet. Do you know how they were able to determine the products were AI generated images?

  21. its not even the hand that did it to me, no human would see a clear good motif and be like "ah yes lets blur is into the bg on the side and not make it a clear round shape" no artist that would sit hours on that would not make it a perfectly round circle at the end GRRRR yes and the hand

  22. How did they figure it out? At first glance those pictures look like half the generic stuff I see being sold at comic cons. I'm glad they were able to figure it out but I want to know what I need to look out for.

  23. dude had the BALLS to put some brushes and paint all over his room to fake painting anything what an asshole

  24. No matter how low you set the bar, some people can still walk under it without bending. Glad the staff took care of it! Sucks, though, that they stole the potential space for a real artist!

  25. I sometimes wonder what they're thinking. "My trash is so good, nobody's gonna notice!" And what even is the first photo? Did they try to market it as traditional art? Great work by Dragon Con! Thanks for posting this!

  26. Oh, my, [Censor], God!

Being an artist is already insanely hard. We don't need fakers taking away are already finite customer base.

And what's crazier. Is that artists are the hardest workers in any white/blue collar job. Everyone knows that. I know, because everyone loves to call us "Starving".

  27. I think the worst part about this is he seems to be right near my own neck of the woods. I have seen quite a few art grifters down here go crazy with ai lately and now my own apps at shows will be uber-scrutinized or insta rejected as a precaution cause these chucklef*cks are burning the bridges.

  28. I love that Patton Oswalt re- ... uh ... re-sky'd ... this? Is that the right word? I'm still figuring out what what is called.

  29. I saw this table at C2E2 this past year. I thought this slop looked familiar and even with C2E2’s no AI policy they didn’t get kicked out. I complained to so many people on staff when I noticed and I was just an attendee. I hope people put up enough of a stink so I never have to see them ever again

  30. Glad they got caught selling their AI crap, also their replies are awful and they clearly don’t care about making art just about making money like most AI “”””””artists””””””””

  31. I kept wondering how they were found out, as they do sell some painted originals. Then I noticed some art in these photos is different from what is sold on their website. It appears that some, but not all, of the art is AI. If anyone has any other details of explanation please add it.

  32. That staged photo is WILD to me. There's so much irrelevant junk! 🤔 Although I, too, have a random single can of spray adhesive in my paint cabinet and I should probably get rid of that.

  33. Oh my god, looked up the artist and it's literally just like... Mr. Brainwash type pop-art sludge... The fact they even needed AI to make some of this garbage lmao...

  34. So many of those paint tubes are full. Not a single one with a worn, ripped, smudged or stained label. No mixing table or tools showing the palette in the image. Not a single reference around that's pertinent to the image. That easel is a set and nothing more. :(

  35. The astronaut imageis the piece that got them flagged, right?

It takes a certain kind of arrogance to sell AI slop at a major convention, but to blow it up to a large proportion so that people can spot the tells from a brief glance?

That's the kind of hubris that gets punished in Greek tragedy.

  36. This is reminding me an artist complained about the number of ai grifters at her local arts and crafts fair and people started dragging her for wanting "hand made arts and crafts", missing the point that she was disappointed in the fact that a bunch of ai "art" were being sold at vendors and not-
