There is likely no perfect solution but the answer cannot be to force them to work with no protection at all.

This is the cost of the Senate filibuster: the last time the House, Senate and POTUS were all under D control (2020 - 2022) the House passed bills to eliminate gerrymandering and give DC statehood. The Senate did nothing on either in spite of having majority support. And so here we are.

Look I know this is utopian and there is no way to get from here to there, but it's something I think about often and in the far distant future I imagine humanity will eventually make its way to an economic system something like this if we want to continue living on a habitable planet Earth.

There would be no need for any environmental laws or regulations since the primary incentive for everyone all the time would be the stewardship of the natural environment because that is how new money is generated.
