The shootout is beginning to feel like a relic. It was always a gimmick aimed at American fans in new markets but it's outived its usefulness. Now it just feels old and shopworn. 10 minutes of 3x3 hockey to showcase the league's great talents, then call it a tie. And drop the silly loser point.
Bettman will never drop his loser point; he loves that the manufactured parity makes fans think their team is good, so they spend more money on games and merch.
