ah yes, I have been hammering on the lack of security and options for a LONG time insofar as bsky is concerned. Email 2FA is better than nothing... but nothing when email addresses are stolen. Any rate not surprised AT ALL... but just stating the painfully obvious. It will likely get worse.

The UI on web to set 2FA is counter productive. I want hardware device 2FA (Yubikey). (inter alia mobile phone based approaches not permitted by my threat model). The UI does not tell me what 2FA forms are available. Result: Don't try it. Put 2FA choices in the UI BEFORE picking it.

#MetsSky. Excellent advice from Bluesky Safety. I had a phishing attempt in DM from an extremely convincing account warning suspension in 24 hours unless I completed my verification by providing by CC number. I reported & account was deleted, but account was VERY authentic looking. Be careful!
