Blue states are finally learning what red states have known all along: you don’t need federal permission to govern.
All of this, but we also need to keep reminding ourselves that there are vulnerable people there, and Dems have been gerrymandered out of existence in these places.
This is a good first step but these states need to think through what happens next. Do they sit fat and happy that their people are protected? Or will the plight of lgbtq+ and black and brown Americans who aren't lucky enough to live there (or rich enough to escape) make them more offensive?
