#HBD Jamie Moyer, born November 18, 1962 in Sellersville, PA. The only person to attend the 1980 Phillies World Series parade as a fan and the 2008 Phillies World Series parade as a player. 25 year big leaguer, freak of nature. 2015 inductee into the Seattle Mariners Hall of Fame.

I'm pretty sure he was born in 1662 and is a badass vampire 🦇
-
My all time favorite Mariners pitcher ❤️❤️❤️

And a really great guy. While he was a Mariner I met him at the Staples on 15th Avenue West, under the Magnolia Bridge. Really nice, pleasant fellow.

Jamie Moyer Change-Up Arrives At Home Plate After Long Journey
PHILADELPHIA—Following a 60-foot, six-inch voyage that began at the distant pitching rubber, a Jamie Moyer-thrown change-up arrived at home plate for a called third strike nearly 147 seconds after it ...

So Seattle is Philadelphia now?
-
I was a huge fan when he played for the Cubs!
-
I still remember that ads he was in for the Ms. The one with him getting a speed gun calibrated in metric was hilarious.
-
He could still buckle some knees with that famous change-of-pace, heard he once threw a complete game W & never broke 80mph? Sounds plausible for Crafty Moyer.
-
Spent some time with the Orioles.
-
Son in law of Digger Phelps
-
Good solid pitcher with minimal velocity. His fastball could be clocked by a calender.
-
Former Cub, too.
-
Owner of the perpetual worry face

I’m a Levittown kid from 1956-67. Just visited family in the Delaware Valley this summer.
-
The Savannah Bananas brought Jamie out to pitch to a batter during their Seattle stop this year.
Got the guy on a fly ball to center.
Looked like he could still go a couple innings.
-
And just a hell of a good guy.
-
Not a freak of nature but a testament to talent, confidence, determination, perseverance, and guile. I saw him pitch the fastest 9 inning game in Safeco Field history.( www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/SEA/SE...) He lost but only gave up one homerun. One of the record 522 he gave up in his career.

I think he pitched until he was about 70? A great Mariner.
-
He had a 65 mph curve ball!
-
The good old Jamie moyer change up
-
Threw some for Texas too. I remember him
-
Bucks County lore, love to see it!
-
Absolute legend, and generous philanthropist
-
We Mariners loved him!
-
One of my favorite pitchers of all time!! His walkout song during his Seattle years was the opening notes of "ThunderStruck" by AC/DC!! He had my hubby & sons hooked as fans !!! He gave back to Seattle so much & we absolutely are fans of his!!
-
All around good guy!
-
I loved seeing Jamie pitch. A finesse pitcher, he was amazing on the mound.
-
I remember his name from his brief time with the Texas Rangers.
-
269-209, 4.25, 638 starts, over 4,000 IP (40th all-time), pitched until he was 49 (!!), all with a mid-80s fastball. Should be in the HOF, IMHO. Longevity and consistency like this should be rewarded. By all accounts a wonderful teammate as well.
-
Jamie finished his career at age 49 with 269 major league wins, 35th all time. He accomplished this with the slowest average fastball among starting pitchers in recent history, excelled at keeping the hitters guessing!
-
Uncle Charlie can still be seen sneaking around home.
-
I cannot and will not Like any Phillies content. Except maybe Jimmy Rollins. ⚾️LGM
-
Thanks for making me feel old. 😁
-
Theres still a team in Philly?
-
I firmly believe longevity like this should count for a ton more than lots of counting stats. He should be in HOF.
-
Sellersville, huh? Did not know that👍
-
Great location and command of his change-up. Solid pitcher in his time. HBD JM
-
I think he could probably still go 5, scatter about 6 hits, give up two runs and get a couple of double plays
-
The very best of finesse pitchers! He knew every batter and was effective in his delivery! Way to go Jamie!
-
former Cub
-
We still joke about his age. We would state his age and it would get progressively larger. He usually was 175 by the end.
-
One of my favorites as a Mariner, he made you feel like anyone could be a baseball player even if you aren’t blessed with otherworldly talent
-
Life long Phillies fan and he is my all-time favorite. Ironically, I first became a fan of his while living in Seattle in the 90s.
