  1. On the one hand you have 14 year olds who want to say the n word. On the other hand you have highly educated former voices of moderation in their cohort, who have been pushed to the point of spending the rest of their lives on a mission to destroy the right. Good luck!

  2. An extremely positive development. The trick, of course, will be to get these kids to do the Logical Next Step.

Several not-especially-political Youths I know have mentioned being disturbed by the DC situation; my favorite local bartender asked me if we’re living in a dictatorship. Usually this means it’s spreading on TikTok

  3. idk for sure where we are on the chart but here's the mapping from Types of Guys to Times They Make

    Weak men: hard times

    Strong men: good times

Men who focus on cardio: decent times that may be more sustainable than strong men's times

Men who lift moderate/heavy weight for high/moderate volume:

  4. And, even if it doesn't mean they're good, it can make them good!

I've said it a billion times, but basically exact same thing was what led me to go from being conservative to being liberal over the course of the 2000s

So the long & short of it is, know when to take people's beliefs seriously

  5. @zomduckie.bsky.social & I were talking about this exact topic earlier today

The trick is he actually believes what he says he believes. We're used to political actors being disingenuous, but some aren't (always). It doesn't always mean they're good. But it can mean they're good in a situation

  6. I grew up in the weirdest Frankenstein ass house on strictness

My fam were hardcore conservatives who hated gays & believed in demons… and also white trash bikers who didn't care what I wore (as long as it wasn't girly) or watched/played/listened to (unless it was too liberal, but explicit was ok)

Funny enough, growing up in a lax Christian household and with a mom who didn't get moral panic about technology or video games really helped me stay level-headed about a lot of things.
