I am a firm opponent of what the Trump administration is doing right now (and indeed, the problem of the large amount of prisoners in the US should be solved), though speaking as an American of Ukrainian and Belarusian descent, I don't think this is the best way of getting that message across...
After all, even if Stalin's USSR had less prisoners than the modern-day United States, the fact that he had many of his political opponents executed...
