The changes are incremental, and where phones wouldn't work today it has more to do with Apple & co not wanting them to work. They're a bit more powerful than they were, so companies have chosen to write more bloated code. I don't really see that as major progress.

I was asking for examples of where its moved quickly. Though I'm not sure about smartphones: clearly a major change when they came in, but they haven't really changed much in the last decade.

I remember thinking smartphones wouldn't take off because I'd been using touchscreens for a while and they were pretty poor.

True, though for me AI is still in the "wait and see" phase as to how much of a different it will really make.

True fact: At BL Board meetings, all board members must be naked. No-one ever mentions it because it's just seen as normal - it's an old tradition to ensure no-one has a hidden weapon. It's why Martin was so relaxed about stripping off in Tracy's sauna.
