Newsom is a slimy bastard but if he is the most effective foil against Trump I would hold my nose and vote for him. Why is he the only National Dem figure who is successfully sticking it to Trump? I guess he has a huge platform as gov and CA is kind of ground zero.
I do not like Newsom and would not vote for him in a primary, nor do I want him as president.
But he’s not wrong here, and if Dem congressional leaders had Newsom’s spine (even if that spine happens to be reinforced by infinite ambition) much of Trump’s agenda would be paralyzed.
