Shout-out to anyone who plans an entire weekend aroundsitting down for two hours though.
I typically watch six films on a weekend and still have time for a life, so I have no idea why a two-hour film needs a whole weekend planned around it
People who say "This film/show/game/whatever is shit" suddenly have nothing* to say when you ask them to actually explain why they think something is shit.
(* Sometimes you some vague complaint about "wokeness" from 'em, so again, they have nothing to say)
I'm really curious what the planning phase looked like if he wasn't even checking availability, and what the rest of his time that weekend was for
It may also have something to do with people confusing opinions with facts and vice-versa.
Just yesterday someone on FB told me I'd be ill suited to a job in cinema reviewing because I thought the original Halloween was a quite boring film and preferred the Rob Zombie remake. Who knew that movie opinions had an objectively correct and incorrect position?

Probably the healthiest (even if often inaccurate) assumption you can have is that you are stupid. Everyone should feel stupid for most of the time, it builds character.
I've been paid to write product reviews for a decade or two, so I have opinions about this - opinions which involve agreeing with you :-)

"Overrated" is such a tell. My dude, if you're judging the quality of art based on what you think of what other people thought about something, you'll never truly enjoy anything.
Or indeed a good reviewer of anything full stop.

Once someone uses the terms “plot hole” or “bad writing” I just stop reading/listening/watching. It’s learned behavior from the most dead-soul’d people imaginable
"Sinners was way overhyped and overrated" is the kind of take that should trigger a social media wide vote on whether the take-haver gets to even have social media any more.
