Alien Earth is super guilty of the same trope so many Hollywood action films do, where the bad guy has a clear opening to kill the protagonist with a weapon and instead kicks them or headbutts them instead of just getting the kill.
The xenomorph feels... weak. Stupid. That's egregious for this IP.
