4 or 5 months ago Trump sought this out with Russia in Saudi Arabia, he's been planning to open up new routes for Russia going through the arctic, more importantly this would give Russia's military a direct route to attack Canada, Greenland and Northern Europe. This isn't a peace negotiation.
