It is of course in stark contrast with what my father was taught (born 1931) here. tl;dr- The colonists were farmers, and lived peacefully. They pushed West, when they were beset by angry, bloodthirsty natives and had to defend themselves and their families.

Thanks for casting an eye over it. I suspect under Trump, they'll be digging out those American history books from the 30s.

  1. Already happening. Howard Zinn was the one that opened my father's eyes.

    There's something worse about the historical facts being out there for all to see, and seeing the government push to ignore it.

    Reminds me of the retcon of WWII history in Japan.
