When Newsom repeatedly called Trump a stone cold liar during the LA military situation it really resonated. Finally not framing Trump’s lies as “stretching the truth” but calling them what they are.
My elderly relatives could not stop repeating "stone cold liar" for weeks. That tells me how it broke through.
