  1. "WS: [Newsome] is not saying he’s sorry. He’s not apologizing for anything. And I think that liberals sometimes apologize ... when they push the boundary like that. Other times there’s just something apologetic in their demeanor. They’re embarrassed to be doing it. And I think that it is crippling."

  2. Newsom as Navalny. Calling out the dictator for amassing a personal fortune and consolidating power while destroying all remnants of democracy. This position is popular because so few dare to take on the dictator.

  3. When Newsom repeatedly called Trump a stone cold liar during the LA military situation it really resonated. Finally not framing Trump’s lies as “stretching the truth” but calling them what they are.

  4. My take is that Gavin has only gone 90% of the right way. Why only "equalize" the Texas scam? Why not go for the 9 seats in CA and have all Blue states do likewise? GO FOR THE KILL! Like McConnell and the MAGAs would and are doing? Maybe keep quiet on that but have it available for SURPRISE MAGA!!!

  5. It's good to blame trump for all the crazy. But republicans enabled and supported him. If taco doesn't run, in the next election, all these Republicans will rewrite history to say they don't know who he is.

Tie Taco to the republicans, don't let them skip responsibility for their support.

  6. Excellent discussion. Another benefit to Newsom's strategy, especially the trolling: as we saw with Walz's prematurely abandoned "weird" campaign, unconventional tactics throw Rs off their game and they struggle to respond.

  7. While Dems were busy fighting over what politician was ideologically pure enough for their faction, the R’s were busy coalescing every single R voter around a giant orange diaper baby. It would behoove the Dems at this moment to put down their purity and rally behind the one guy speaking out.

  8. What hit home with me is the end of the article that is captured in the last image. It is clear as day. Democrats need to do this.

  9. Newsom knows that there will be no place for him in public life if Trump destroys our democracy. It’s a mystery to me why other Democratic politicians don’t quite get that, because there will be no place in public life—or at least no power—for any of them if Trump succeeds.

  10. This is exactly right! We have to stop giving them the benefit of the doubt or acting as if the worst reason for something is not the reason they’re doing it. It is always the worst reason. Dems and media outlets need to stop acting as if they have to give deference to any other possibility.

  12. Just listened, but he's not the only one. We can't rely on one Dem...we can't forget that some have been stating the facts and not backing down since 2016...Bernie, Warren, AOC, Talib, Omar, Presley, Waters and others Wu, Jasmine Crocket, Andy Beshear, Pritzker. I'm sure I'm forgetting many others!
