There are no statues of Rommel or Manstein or Guderian in Germany. We don't need ststues of Lee or Jackson or even Albert Pike. They fought for a dreadful cause. They lost bigly. To hell with 'em.

If monuments to the Confederacy must remain to "teach the history", then they should only and always be displayed alongside the unredacted and uninterpreted text of the Declarations of Secession.

Y'know, so people can see, in the Confederates' own words, what it was that they chose to fight for.

  1. Statues don’t “teach history” any more than flying the Confederate battle flag does. Books, museums and educational institutions do that. Statues glorify and mythologize. Confederate flags are for burning, statues for making rubble for road paving.
