The mirrors sometimes would not even fit in freight elevators. They had to get permits to put the mirrors ON TOP of the elevators.

I took a morning walk with my retired neighbor. He briefly had his own business in NYC selling and installing mirrors.
Me: How did you get into that?
Him: My brother-in-law had a factory of 40 workers making mirrored furniture.
And that, my friends, is the most 80s thing I’ve ever heard.
