  1. lawyers didn’t invent political strategy? most people who are any good at politics are very strategic. you seem to have conflated “politics” with “self-actualization,” which politics is actually a pretty bad venue for

  2. politically speaking I think a form of protest that reduces your ability to substantively impede proceedings is less effective than one that actually acquits the defendant. gotta be strategic even in politics.

  4. As much as I love seeing Star Trek with high production values, I would rather have solid, interesting sci fi scripts. And occasional callbacks to other shows can make a universe feel interesting and lived in. But constant references and cameos by bit side characters makes it feel tiny

  5. Even LD felt too much like a fan service project. Honestly too much Trek now is made by and for fans and is stuck retreading old ideas and characters. Haven’t really explored new frontiers since Voyager. But even ENT was more original than any new trek.

  6. Deeply mixed. SNW had a great cast and visuals. Haven’t adored the writing and just how mired it’s been in callbacks to other series. In general feel like prequels are always a bad idea. Disco was deeply meh. Didn’t love Picard.

  7. Once TV seasons for shows with high concept episodic premises started being ten episodes long it certainly became a much less appealing tradeoff. Plus the loss of a spec script as a concept has just made shows less interesting.
