You're not on the side of terrorizing trans people until we're eliminated from public life, right?
Then let people be themselves, whether you get it or not, and stop blaming the victims for a problem that may well have come from too little radical energy in our activist ranks, not too much.

But, unless trans people are terrorized to the point of being eliminated from public life, you won't succeed in cowing all of the millions of random trans people who want to express themselves and do their own thing, and who reactionaries will try to hold up as examples of how we're all extreme.

I hope it is just that it is a little early to be calling it, and that we'll see a strong response tomorrow to the fed news coupled with the tariffs further shutting down trade, but if we don't... You have a pretty plausible explanation there as to why.

I will be more optimistic if/when folks start actually going to jail for fucking with Illinois, but he absolutely gives me hope that he will follow through when tested!

Serious question: can states have extradition agreements with each other? Do they? If someone is wanted for breaking the law in, oh, say, Illinois, could they be arrested, for instance, by Maryland or Virginia law enforcement and transported to Illinois for trial?
