Nope, me neither. We visited 7 years later and drove the 9th ward. Mostly a ghost town. On occasion we’d see someone sobbing on their porch. We need to do better.

Fact! I started watching “Hurricane Katrina: Race Against Time” on Nat. geo. The victims were treated like animals throughout the ordeal, while white vigilantes laughed. My heart still breaks for them.

My father kept a pile of them in his waiting room in his optometry office. I would literally fake illness so that I would have to go into the office with mom for a day. I'd sit and look for hidden pictures for the whole day. Don't even get me started on Goofus and Galant.
