It would be hard for you to find someone's top ten list of King's novels without Misery on it. This book is a work of master class and terrifying to it's core. If you've only seen the movie you're doing yourself a disservice, so, go find a copy and start reading. 6/6

Of course, Misery was adapted into a film in 1990 that starred James Caan and Kathy Bates, with Bates winning an Oscar for her performance. 5/6

Misery by Stephen King - Celeste's Review - Novel Notions
Stephen King's Misery is one of the scariest stories I've ever read, because everything within its pages is technically possible.
-
Originally Misery was meant to be published under King's pseudonym, Richard Bachman, but he was outed before publication (thank God, because it worked better under King's name). Misery also won the first Bram Stoker award for Best Novel, and for good reason. 3/6

Published in 1987, Misery follows writer Paul Sheldon as he finished writing his first book outside of the romance genre; unfortunately, he has a little wreck on his way back from his cabin and is discovered by his number one fan, Annie Wilkes. 2/6

And the top book that I had to read in school is one that I had to read in college, and that's Hemingway's The Old Man and the Sea. This book won Hemingway The Noble Prize in Literature, and for good reason. 6/7
