I like Katherine Kelly, but when I see her name associated with a new drama, I immediately think… “dark, depressing, crime, doom, gloom….”. It’s not just KK though tbf. Why oh why can’t we see something lighter for a change? ((CLICK))

I love that period, even though I was only very young at the time. Subsequently built up quite a collection!
For me, the joy of being a songwriter has often come from hearing performances of a song by different singers. Tony Orlando just sent me Ben E. King’s soulful recording of this song that Gerry Goffin and I wrote that Tony made famous. (cont'd in comments)
The big hit version in the UK was by Billy Fury. Far different and quite grandiose and orchestral. Still very good. As you say, it’s great to hear different interpretations. Another song I like that has been covered a number of times brilliantly is Lilac Wine.
