Not to pile on, but every 'c' in 'Pacific Ocean' is pronounced differently.
English language should just be entirely reset to Latin pronunciation, or switch to another writing system. I'm pretty sure there already is one that's specifically made for English language that solves this craziness.

Our English language is a living history of the many times we were colonized and of our history of colonization. It's kind of nice the way it is despite its mongrel nature imo.

english can be phonetically spelled with the latin alphabet but if you do so then native speakers think 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵's cursed and call you stupid
