  1. In a field I once worked in, "troughs" in the market occurred periodically, and we were told management expected a severe one to hit soon. A colleague remarked that meant it would be a tough trough.

    I asked: "I wonder if they have this tough trough thoroughly thought through, though."

  2. English language should just be entirely reset to Latin pronunciation, or switch to another writing system. I'm pretty sure there already is one that's specifically made for English language that solves this craziness.
