I figured it's like the body just stays alive. From 3e and Kierkan's story he became a vampire from exposure to chaos magic as a priest of Denier so my explicit headcanon is that vampirism is a magical affliction, and therefore you wouldn't necessarily need the entire body...

I feel really bad for UK and European collectors of Marvel/DC. You guys really get fucked on prices for stuff we regularly get for 40-90% off.
