Public service broadcasters are doing a core part of their job on this topic badly if that 8% is not closer to 30% at least
It's another example in the long list of evidence that propaganda works, and we need to act in defense of Truth, since the idea that Truth™️ wins on its own only helps the propagandists by conceding the field.

Broadcasters & other "news" media are doing the job their owners & managers want them to do. I.e. they are acting as PR firms for DT & the GOP--deceiving ppl--to glorify T/GOP & demonize Dems.

Exactly. I don't understand how a person's concern can be "legitimate" if it's not based in, um, reality.
And there is no significant constituency or even individual voice for the facts on this issue.
This ought to be a damning embarrassment for British media and cause for them to change how they communicate information to the public, rather than a data point for them to look at and say “Huh, isn’t that interesting?”
Very similar dynamic in the US. It is impossible to overestimate how uninformed many people are. Beyond misinformation, just utter obliviousness. Press gets blamed a lot, but you can't force people to pay attention.
