Its scarcely believable the shocking #IPPscandal continues under a Labour government - it’s one of the most cruel, inhumane & monumental injustices of the past half-century
Now Keir Starmer has a chance to end this monstrous injustice. Will he take it? @ungripp.bsky.social youtu.be/GCj0El53pF4?...

UK jail escape trial reignites debate over indefinite sentences
Joe Outlaw, who climbed on to a prison roof, is using the mental toll of indeterminate detention as a legal defence

Over the next month we will be sharing more about the IPP action plan and how we will be challenging the Government on this approach.
-
UNGRIPP do not believe that this or any action plan can fix the IPP sentence, the only true way to fix it is through Parliamentary policy & the politicians know this but are choosing to ignore it.
-
One that means it will take a minimum of 11 years before all people on an IPP sentence are released from prison. That would be 36 years after the IPP sentence was introduced and 24 years after it was abolished. How can this be viewed as progress?
-
What we have been presented with is the status quo of the last 20 years regarding dealing with IPP sentences.
By sticking with this approach the government are committing themselves to a slow change scenario.
-
Today the updated IPP action plan was released, yet again it completely misses the mark on the urgency thats needed to end this 20 year long injustice. This is evident by the complete lack of any real measurable targets that would lead to a significant change.
