my father-in-law is a “I know a guy” Guy. sadly all the old Guys are aging out of the Guy Economy. Guys are fundamentally incompatible with Hustle Culture because it’s not about “winning” a deal, it’s about collecting favors and goodwill in a mutually-beneficial cycle. protect your local Guy Economy

Stripe terminated an account that draws cartoon animal heads???
There are no red flags in the text descriptions. Some people are saying "furry" or "body" as a possibility for flagging. Language used for commissions of PET PORTRAITS. WORDS. TO DESCRIBE THINGS. There is NO "high risk" usage here!?
Fuck censorship. They're coming after you next, whether you make porn or not. I have never sold NSFW services or artwork, yet here's my termination from Stripe! Fully SFW, innocent headshots of furries = adult content. This is what we've been trying to fucking tell y'all this whole month!

I realize this may be taken the wrong way uhh
Like obviously there's still plenty of stuff that should be more socially acceptable than it is today, I think social consequences are the angle most questionable things should be attacked from, not making it illegal and generally restricting freedom
-
True, I always found actively policing what's "moral" to be kinda weird in the first place.
Rules and laws should exist solely to prevent actual harm or abuse. For everything else, it's "freedom to do whatever you want and face the (social) consequences" in my book.

You Are NOT Responsible for someone else's suicide. Period. You'd have to do something utterly insane. It's definitely not insane to reasonably draw a boundary. Going out of your way to make someone feel responsible for someone's suicide over something so trivial is insane if anything. (2/2)

Hey mate, if it helps, the person that went out of their way to tell you that likely either put the blame on you as a f*cked up way to absolve themselves in their own head, or (more likely) it was the same person trying to guilt trip you and they're still walking around somewhere. (1/2)
