Yes the pill form does this but it usually has to be taken every month and can over time have some adverse effects. The topical does the same but can also have environmental effects if it gets into water sources. A once a year vaccine would be better both health wise and environmentally.

Wow!.A tick vaccine would be awesome. If it works in humans,I wonder if it could be easily modified for livestock and pets. The chemicals currently used for flea and tick prevention for pets is really bad for the environment. Don't let pets swim in lakes or ponds for at least a week after treatment.
