I've been so heavily sheltered that even the clothes I wanted were heavily regulated
but recently I bought some new clothes for myself cuz I needed some and got a pair of combat boots and a graphic t and I'm happy because I feel like my own individual person
I really feel deeply for you reading this. I'm not sure what all you went through, but I can relate to this post. It can be hard to find your way out of mentally, or find any sort of individuality that feels truly your own. I'm glad you're healing and making progress 💕

Find out your own expression is a really empowering thing. I even got my first pieces of custom clothing some time ago, my favorite being a custom Ghostbusters shirt I use fore cosplay.

i was raised super sheltered too with conservative parents but now that i’m on my own i’ve been able to do my own stuff more i started wearing skirts and it genuinely so liberating
REALLLLL I was always asked what BOY I was dressing up for if I so much as even matched with my clothes.
