Extreme heat, or heatwaves, are becoming more frequent and intense due to the climate crisis. We look at how extreme heat is affecting human health.
For example:
• Supporting our cities and communities to adapt to extreme heat
• Moving to clean energy, transport and climate-resilient farming practices to mitigate against future warming
More frequent and intense heatwaves bring greater health risks. They can lead to heat stroke and other serious health problems.
But there are things we can do. Public and private sector leaders must invest in and implement science-led solutions that prioritise health.
