Disappointingly, Highest 2 Lowest has a bit of an old man sensibility about culture. Some great scenes especially in the 2nd half, and Denzel and Jeffrey Wright are of course amazing, but it's missing the cinematic display of class dichotomy in the original. Also, the end is some tacked on B.S. IMO
