I once ran into my Rogerian psychiatrist in a store. It was a bit more than awkward.
Her metier was actually genetics,* and I have no idea what drove her to sideline in psychiatry.
- Dwarfism.

I once discovered that two of my friends from different parts of the Internet, whom I'd never associated with each other, were friends in a third part of the Internet

Silly of you to assume that there's only one AntaresMike.

Better than running into one's teacher in the gymnasium showers, on the same day that you skipped their class.
-
More like running into a teacher in a sex-shop.

I met a voice actor for a scifi audiobook in a discord server about a furry webcomic recently. I also found someone I used to occasionally see on a wholly unrelated discord server there too.

found a major Cataclysm:DDA contributor in a Bluesky thread arguing about politics

Why is "running into your teacher in a store" universally agreed upon to be it's in specific emotion?

Animorphs? Bush league.
How about being introduced via Teams to a new work colleague of the opposite gender who you last saw 10 years ago on the clothing optional beach at an alternative festival? And I do mean "saw".

This happens quite a bit with previous something awful forum goons
-
Animorphs mention!!!!!
-
And… being a teacher running into your principal at the grocery towards the end of summer is very similar

There's a guy in the Hololive community on reddit that's known for a particular anatomical obsession. He, it turns out, is ALSO a game dev and making a fan game (unrelated to said obsession) I can only imagine the "Wait... HIM!?" that goes through people who run into him in both corners.
-
That's a good way to put it

i always love when this happens, noticed someone in the comments of a music production video from when we used to play a video game together a couple years ago
-
It not all bad. I was looking at a FB page for a musician, and saw a comment from someone I went to grade school with. I was happy to reconnect with her.

Me, unironically, when I first found my old pals from Uncyclopedia on Twitter
-
I have been using this same screen name for decades solely to create such scenarios.

Randall Munroe from the "Bed Wetters Anonymous" forum? No way! How have you been? Still wetting the bed and... drawing comics I see

Title text: "Hey, so did you ever finish your video series about Cassie and the caterpillar morph? I loved the first three, but never ... no, sorry, I get it, this isn't the place. Sorry! Sorry."
