  1. Seconded. I once wrote for a (now defunct) website where my editors would give my weekly articles the most misleading and sometimes asinine headlines. This would lead to pissed off readers and plenty of heat being thrown my way.

    As someone who once wrote an entire article about Higurashi and had the title forcibly changed to match this style of title, which only succeeded at pissing anime fans off, this structure of clickbait titles should be abandoned.

  2. I cannot stress enough that getting mad at the writer over headlines is focusing on the wrong target. It is the editor's job to write headlines - and sometimes even the publisher

    Getting mad at the author is like yelling at the service rep on the phone for company policy they didn't make
