I cannot stress enough that getting mad at the writer over headlines is focusing on the wrong target. It is the editor's job to write headlines - and sometimes even the publisher

Getting mad at the author is like yelling at the service rep on the phone for company policy they didn't make

As someone who once wrote an entire article about Higurashi and had the title forcibly changed to match this style of title, which only succeeded at pissing anime fans off, this structure of clickbait titles should be abandoned.

    I don’t even know the context, but with my background I can see why the complainers are especially stupid.

  2. The only sad thing about this is usually those decision makers are not meaningfully accessible to the public so taking this advice to heart just means giving up on the issue entirely.
