Feels like we need some more words to describe the 'burbs, because there are very big differences between, say, the streetcar suburbs of the East and Midwest and the postwar freeway suburbs out West

Wait, that doesn't make sense. The more seats there are the HARDER it is to gerrymander because it's more tough to "hide" the minority party votes.
e.g. You get proportionally a hell of a lot more Dem seats if Texas has 60 reps rather than 2
