I think this originated from an oversimplification of ideas in BRAINSTORM (Siegel 2014). Got a free pre-market copy of from my kid's psychiatrist in like 2017, picked it up in 2022 and nearly threw it at the wall. He was trying to explain teens, and now everybody's dissing young adults.

25 years after my biggest brush with SF gatekeeping and we're still basically on the "living writers don't measure up to dead men" train? Good grief. If you're going to be beating this horsemeat, at least make it look like you're not saying "we should never have let women in to show us up."
