My lovely husband cooked a vegetable snack - basted, seasoned, found the little prongy tools that had vanished into the back of the drawer - he really put effort in; it looks delicious.
I delightedly accepted a portion uttering only: "hard chore corn!"
I hope he found it as funny as I did. 😆🥰

I was 14 in 2000. We were definitely texting.

Yes, words of power, like "reasonable accommodations" and "material inconvenience" - they hold a fair chunk of sway when trying to get a company to do things.
-
Depends what you mean by "new" - it's been 25 years since the Nokia 3310 was released. Landline phones were a thing for quite some time before that - but we didn't have texts then. Perhaps instead wonder why some people feel it is so important they MUST talk to someone right away, rather than text?
-
Well, I didn't say your small child.

Holidays should be better than what I already have at home. If the bed is worse or the food not as good, then that was a waste of money - and if I have to make either of those myself, then that's not a damned holiday, that's just the same chores, different place.
-
Well, I figure it's a bit like a small child stood next to you yelling "TALK TO ME TALK TO ME TALK TO ME TALK TO ME" when you're trying to do something- how many people actually enjoy that? Ping a text, or better yet, arrange to meet up. If you absolutely have to, voice-to-text is everywhere now.

I wonder if the research also took into account that the kids who are homeschooled often have learning disabilities/difficulties and/or are neurodivergent - so the bell curve would look different.

Ah yeah, I know the ones you mean! Not quite the same, but I enjoy hiding toy lizards in various places... 😁
