I'd bet my net worth that he will do this. Every last thing we know about him says the he will.
So, have 2 people w/ camera at each polling place. If pulled from line by uniform, be polite and soak up their time and attention. Arrange to vote by mail if guy at polling place w/ gun you can see bothers you more than guy in grocery checkout w/ gun you can't see. Rights don't exercise themselves.

Oh, there will be armed military in polling stations in 2026. I have no doubt. Not every polling station, of course. I'm sure we all know which ones.
You can see why he and Putin agreed voting by mail had to be the next thing purged from our elections.
I mean, in the aftermath of the 2020 election there was a draft executive order that would have directed the defense secretary to seize voting machines based on debunked conspiracy theories about election fraud in Georgia and Michigan.

The executive branch is interfering in U.S. elections in unprecedented ways.
Is there a basis for them to do this though? The polling places themselves are categorically not federal property and Art 1 §4 is clear that running elections is left to the states.
They will renew their attacks on mail-in voting, because it's harder to intimidate voters.
But what do they do there? Obviously that’s toxic and corrosive and intimidating. But are they keeping people from voting or what?

Vote Blue in numbers too large to ignore. Close elections are ripe for GOP manipulation. Here in Texas, Trump is pissing off more and more Trumpers by ignoring inflation. High prices are why they voted for him. (Sadly, racism was a close second.)

I have little doubt that the regime will do everything - including hacking the voting computers - to keep the congress.

What I’m worried about is ICE/CBP etc pulling voters out of line and otherwise hassling them.
Can the state governors order the national guard to guard voting sites? Can Democrats go vote and then mass around voting sites to protect other voters? Peacefully singing “America the Beautiful”? There are more of us. I would donate my day. Also this should be a NATIONAL STRIKE DAY!!!!

I have no doubt that will happen. And probably forcing people to leave the queues because ‘too many people are gathered right now, and it’s a risk’.
Okay, and what are those troops going to do? Currently the deployed soldiers aren't actually fighting crime or subduing local government or anything to advance the admin's goals. They just patrol a little bit and feature in some unhappy recordings.

I honestly think this might lead to the balkanization of the US. I'm not sure there's ever been a real recovery from an epistemic crisis like what we're living in that didn't ultimately lead there, even if just for some time. Like obviously no one is going to tolerate it if they very clearly

And people have rightly pointed out that it's not even about actually implementing them. Just creating chaos would be enough. "Confiscating all mail in ballots" also came to mind.
