I think you understand my point and won't admit it. YOU deciding FOR YOURSELF that one thing is worth the risk and not the other is fine. But a public health official giving public health recommendations needs to make that recommendation based on best public health practices, not politics.

And that's Tom's point, that the risk was deemed to be warranted in one case and not another, depending on the purpose of the gathering. And that's not science, it's politics.

From a public health standpoint, it is. I understand that you think one thing is more important than the other, and I agree, but if the point is that it's not safe for large groups of people to stand right next to each other, it doesn't matter what those people are doing.

The GOP was not always crazy.
People act like the party of Romney, HW Bush, Lugar, McCain, and so on never existed or were no better than the extremists.
