oh this is fun, i don’t get to pull this card a lot: i am a lambda award winning writer and i think you should read whatever degenerate garbage filth you get your hands on. itch, ao3, whatever. do not let publishers and editors determine what is acceptable to reach you.
go to your local library or bookstore and ask someone who works there what they’re reading! read something that had an editor, had a publisher, something an author you love loves, something that was a lambda finalist or award winner, something with some meat on its fucking bones!
