Hmmm. Flight home to Australia from Canada, sat next to a couple from Ohio. All good until she said the US had too many immigrants. I see that as a racist dog-whistle and an indication she was probably a Trumpist. I laughed. She was coming to my country to spend money. Why would I alienate her?

To save Canada from becoming part of Trumpland, Carney has to spend a lot of money. If he didn't make cuts there would be screams of, "How are we going to pay for it?". It's what cuts he makes that will tell the story of his priorities. Give the guy a chance.

Carney is not wobbling. He is focused on doing the best for Canada. Which means not seeking revenge as a knee-jerk reaction but looking at the facts and figures. Canada's economy grew 2.2% in the last quarter, while the US went backwards -3%. Trust the process, be patient. If he fails use your vote.
