These so-called Christians believe that uneducated men can not only read but interpret the Bible...which has been translated so many times and in so many languages, that the basic premise of the original has long been lost. But of course they can put whatever interpretation they want.

Not lost. They just don't care and knowing what's really in there messes up their world. It's inconvenient to know.
