Attorney, primarily LA, CA

  1. Yeah, well, that film holds up and some. There aren't many films as open-hearted and unsentimental. It is deeply moving but really clear-eyed. The film is heightened in everything but execution. I remembered nearly every beat of the story, but the emotion of it hits differently in my forties.

    Tonight's film

I've seen this before, and I have had it on bluray for a bit, but the last time I tried to watch it, I tapped out in the first act at the line, "Hold on to your baby." This time, I assume I will finish it.

  3. I've clung to grim belief that 1968 would be darkest year I'd see in US. Horrific assassinations. Real (not show) military occupation in DC. Tet and MyLai. 'Police Riot' in Chicago. Nixon/Agnew.

Not so certain any more. Back then 2 parties still functioned. A prez could resign for "good of nation"

  4. (We went through 15 other Union Stations during the three day trip - the main Amtrak station in almost every city across the country is called Union Station, largely because this country was once so very proud of handing the Confederacy’s ass to itself.) #UnionStationUnionStationUnionStation
