Yeah, well, that film holds up and some. There aren't many films as open-hearted and unsentimental. It is deeply moving but really clear-eyed. The film is heightened in everything but execution. I remembered nearly every beat of the story, but the emotion of it hits differently in my forties.
Tonight's film
I've seen this before, and I have had it on bluray for a bit, but the last time I tried to watch it, I tapped out in the first act at the line, "Hold on to your baby." This time, I assume I will finish it.
