  1. Johnson didn't have an open borders policy, unless that's what you're calling Brexit now.

You're right, it's those kind of stories that will get Farage into No. 10. As ridiculous as that sounds, remember, he sold people Brexit. There is no snake oil he can't sell to enough of the British public.

  2. The markets have largely gone to ignoring Trump now and he should be grateful for that.

If it becomes obvious he's resorting to cooking the books, shielding the facts that might not last.

The lid will blow off at some point via a whistleblower & traders won't want to be caught in that.

  3. As of mid‑2025, net migration remains lower than 2023 levels but still far above long-term norms from the 2010s

There are early signs in 2025 of further declines, driven by stricter policies on student and care-worker visas, but final figures for the year are pending.

  4. Also from the ONS

For the year ending December 2024, net migration was 431,000, nearly half the previous year’s figure of 860,000

The decline reflects reduced inflows: immigration dropped from ~1.326 million in 2023 to 948,000 in 2024, while emigration rose to 517,000

  5. Just came across this guy on tiktok who plays connect4 with random people on the street and I know it’s a joke, yet this person is doing more to ground himself in his environment, connect (ha) with the people around him, while getting the people he plays with to take a micro break in their day 🥲
