They are classical age, but although they have feathers and beaks, they also have other elements such as body structure or wing type that are radically different, so much so that one might think they are a strange type of bat.

It's something I've discussed with a friend, possibly the separation would be based on whether they are bipedal or quadrupedal, and whether their skin would be covered with scales or feathers. Since not all theropods have feathers. And not all dinosaurs outside of theropods are scaly or quadrupedal.

Would pterosaurs be considered birds because they had feathers? Or would they be treated differently because of their very different anatomy? People in the past thought that cetaceans were fish.. 🤔

Thinking about where the ‘bird/reptile’ separation of dinosaurs should be in the human view, a setting where dinosaurs have evolved alongside them. The word dinosaur as such would not even exist in this setting.
