You can still move freely to Ireland, naturalise after a (non-trivial but achievable) number of years, get your EU passport, and be free again. 🙂
Easier said than done if you have any kind of family commitments or strong UK ties. But it may help psychologically to know you are not totally trapped.

Let’s be honest. Carswell is not alone. You don’t tweet unless you know it’s a popular belief. There are many in public roles, in pubs and at dinner tables who believe this. This is a persecution of Muslims in the UK and anyone with any sense of humanity, who cares about Britain must call this out .

I can only say that some of my "I would never work for..." have held up better than others. Nuclear for sure, Oil & Gas again (I did one Shell gig when their CEO was all "let's go renewables"; he got kicked out and they're back to their old evil): but Defence I am not so sure now.
