Fox News is my best theory, as the start of the trend. Then supercharged by Facebook, then the death of local media.

Do you have any thoughts on what structure of media might counteract the diffusion of authority and the (often well justified) loss of faith in institutions?
I still want to keep the Republic. We have not found better.
