  2. I assume the point is that it is a disincentive to economic migrants if they know they won't get a job when they get here. ...but yes, as many as possible should be given the right to work and support themselves.

  3. So currently if your asylum claim has been pending for more than 12 months, you can apply for permission to work. Maybe she’s proposing liberalising work permits in some form?
